Sketch-ups

Just some Solidwork sketch-up for our 3D Display.
Closest wood pattern to reality:

Some experimenting with the placement of holes:

(Solveig: We can just output the holes as drafting sketch if things works here. They are 20mm apart and extra holes on turns.)

  1. thanks Peter

I think we'll have to go farther apart between the holes - more like 40 mm because the holes will make the structure weaker. We also need to make sure we alternate in the area where the lines are closest at the top. How close did you set the holes in the corners? - I think we may have to accept a little harder edges than we achieve when drawing, just to follow the integrity of the materials that we have chosen. We could go close had it been steel :) What is the diameter size of the holes? I'll need to know that in order to get the right size cord. Driving over to dressew at 10. Are you able to make these adjustments and print it out as a full scale fabrication drawing that we can place on top of the piece as a template? It will be more accurate than redoing in illustrator. I am running 20 min late this morning. Have two kids home sick today after a bad night of coughing and fever.
